Zakira Ganji is an Afghan refugee who has been living in Tilak Nagar, Delhi's since 2017. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Sustainable development from Xavier University and working with JRS(Jesuit Refugee Services) to provide different health services and resources for opportunities to her fellow Afghans. In her time with JRS, Zakira has previously conducted different FGDs on SGBV(sexual and gender based violence) with Afghan women and girls and has been a volunteer with Don Bosco a partner of UNHCR to raise awareness about GBV in my community during the first and second phase of Covid-19.
Through these activities, Zakira has tried to bring positive change in her community and contribute to sustainable development goals by raising awareness on different topics such as gender sensitization, reproductive health, menstrual cycle. Through the Youth Ke Bol platform, Zakira will try to bring more awareness to these issues and its intersections with the realities of refugee communities.
